The Clos du Jaugueyron 2004 needed some time in the decanter to open up. Bright and open nose, with loads of crisp cherry, berry, mocha, stones and clay. A true sniffer and o so pure. Drinking nicely, although the wine was young and a bit raw at first. Palate followed the nose. Loads of bright, ripe red fruit. Concentrated and mouth-filling. Soft tannins in support. Some earth, licorice and minerals offering a darker side. Again, pure, pure fruit with a solid acidity. Yumm. Good length, this will improve more... Yet, if you like your fruit crisp and open... Why wait? 91 points.
