Proefnotitie
Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy: "From the upper part which suits the finesse of the Heitz-Lochardet style. Medium deep vibrant purple, with a sensual and floral nose. Really elegant, the tannins are plentiful but very fine grained, very persistent. 93"
Steen Öhman, Winehog: "The Pommard Rugiens is a step up in intensity and quality – a lovely wine in the making – cooler than the 2015 but perhaps lacking a bit of the lavish fruit of this vintage. The nose offers lovely red and darker berries – juicy and quite floral – notes of rose petal and cinnamon – and with a nice hint of the mighty Rugiens minerality. On the palate intense, quite rich and rather long. I do like the elegant and silky whole cluster fruit. Matching the 2015? – perhaps if one prefers the cooler and slightly more structured style of the 2016 vintage – but given time I think the decadent 2015 will prevail. – Very Fine+ – (93 – 94p)"
Neal Martin, Vinous: "The 2016 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has a crisp and refined bouquet with ebullient red berry fruit, briary and light sous-bois aromas. Classic in style, this feels refined and yet does not shortchange in terms of fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a rigid backbone. Quintessentially Pommard, there is just the right amount of dryness to get the saliva flowing. This is a serious, almost aloof Pommard that will not appeal to those with a penchant for more fruit-driven, Volnay-like Pinot Noir. For serious Pommard-lovers only. 92. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting. Drinking Window: 2022 - 2048."
